Depression or dropping out? AI ventures think they have an answer

Artificial intelligence is not meant only to streamline processes or replace people. It has enormous potential to change social reality — to detect distress, make services accessible, and empower organizations working for the community. I see more and more entrepreneurs, researchers and organizations understanding that AI can be used to advance social projects for the community and the environment, rather than for profit.

Artificial intelligence can be a tremendous engine of social change if we use it correctly — to improve public policy, make information accessible, strengthen communities and provide creative solutions to social problems. But it won't happen by itself. The public system needs to adapt itself and give it a real opening to grow and develop.
